Sydney is usually a place to go for a swim and people like to go there.. Now people are afraid to go in the water because of these shark attacks in Sydney. Shark attacks in Sydney are causing a lot of fear and worry. People are very concerned about shark attacks in Sydney.
Sunday Afternoon Attack on 12-Year-Old Boy
Something bad happened on Sunday at 4:20 in the afternoon. A boy who is twelve years old got bitten by a shark in Sydney Harbour. He was jumping off a rock with his friends when this happened. The boy got really hurt when the shark bit his legs. Now he is in a very bad way, at Sydney Children’s Hospital. His friends got him out of the water. They laid him down on a rock. Then the people who help in emergencies. They did something to stop the boy from bleeding too much. The shark attack was very serious. The boy is fighting for his life at the hospital. The police officers did a job helping the boy. Superintendent Joseph McNulty was very sad when he saw what happened. He is in charge of the New South Wales Police Marine Area Command. He said the boy was hurt badly and it was probably because of a bull shark. The shark might have come close to the shore because of the water.
Shark Bites Surfboard at Dee Why Point
Something scary happened at Dee Why Point. A boy who is eleven years old was surfing. A shark. Bit his surfboard. The boy was lucky. He did not get hurt. The people at the Northern Beaches Council said the boy is safe now. Some officials from the New South Wales Department of Primary Industries think that the shark that bit the board was a bull shark. The shark made a mark on the board that was fifteen centimeters long which is about six inches. The boy and his surfboard had a call with a bull shark, at Dee Why Point.
Monday Evening Attack on 25-Year-Old Man at Manly
On Monday evening at 6:20 p.m. Something terrible happened at North Steyne Beach in Manly. North Steyne Beach is a place that lots of people like to visit. It gets one million visitors every year. A man who is 25 years old got hurt badly. He got hurt by a shark. The shark bit his legs. The man is in Royal North Shore Hospital now. He is in good condition. The people who helped us in emergencies treated the man at North Steyne Beach before they took him to Royal North Shore Hospital.
Northern Beaches Council Closes Beaches
The Northern Beaches area is having some problems with sharks. So the Northern Beaches Council has closed all the beaches for now. They did this because the water is really rough and there have been sharks spotted. The Northern Beaches Council said that they closed the ocean beaches except for Palm Beach over the weekend and on Monday. The Northern Beaches Council is keeping an eye on what is happening with the sharks and they will make changes if they need to so people can stay safe at the Northern Beaches.
